How the IVA process works
Step by Step guide to sorting out your IVA.
1. You make an enquiry through a phone call, email or text. We give you advice on what the best option is for you, and send a pack out if we can help.
2. Fill in the application form and return it to us in the prepaid envelope. The more complete the information, the easier it will be to complete the process. You can even arrange a meeting with one of our field advisors to help you understand the procedure and fill in the application form.
3. From the information provided in your application, we will work out how we can help you and contact you by phone and mail.
4. We will review your monthly income and expenditure and make sure we have all the necessary paperwork. We can then calculate your monthly contribution that will be put to your creditors.
5. We will confirm this offer with you to make sure you are happy with it. You will need to sign this and return it to us in order for us to proceed with your arrangement.
6. We will schedule a meeting with your creditors (You must be available on the phone at the time of your meeting, although you do not need to attend).
7. You will be given a payment schedule for the period of the IVA.
8. Your monthly contribution will be held in trust by us and we will deal with your creditors thereafter. As long as you maintain the contributions, your creditors should not contact you again.
9. At the conclusion of the arrangement all outstanding debt will be written off. No more chasing, no more bills and no more demands.
