- Tuesday, 17 March 2009Almost one in four Britons are "crunch drunk" from the amount of credit and debt information they have received since the start of the credit crunch.
Such is the finding of financial services provider The Hartford, which reveals that 23 per cent of consumers are confused by the information they have received.
This is despite the fact that this proportion also admit that action is required if they are to safeguard their financial futures.
However, a further 42 per cent could be in even greater trouble, as they are still unaware that their spending habits could be unsustainable.
For either group, seeking clear debt advice from a reliable source could help to reduce the levels of confusion and denial that they experience.
Michael Rudge, UK managing director of Hartford Life, recommends "seeking financial advice from a trusted source" in light of the results.
Britons may wish to follow his suggestion and obtain clear debt information from one individual or service in order to remain focused on tackling their finances.
