- Monday, 11 May 2009It is not only adults who are concerned about credit management, according to the Personal Finance Education Group (PFEG).
Chief executive Wendy van den Hende notes that debt problems and other monetary topics are an issue for nine-tenths of teenagers.
Her comments come as the PFEG is looking to educate youngsters on issues which could impact on their future finances.
"With 90 per cent of teenagers worrying about money on a daily basis, improving their financial capability will give them the fundamental skills and knowledge in financial matters to participate fully in society," Ms van den Hende says.
The group has already delivered sessions to help young people with their credit management and financial know-how, including variations on the TV show format Deal or No Deal.
Recently, the PFEG called for money management to be made a compulsory element of the National Curriculum for primary schools.
However, it added that it was pleased to see personal finance reflected already in subject strands including mathematics, and health and wellbeing.
