- Tuesday, 10 November 2009People in the East Midlands are to be offered educational seminars on personal finance in order for them to regain control in difficult economic circumstances.
Three events, hosted by the Nottingham, will aim to help people plan for their futures with useful recession-related tips.
The building society's talks could prove helpful in tackling debt problems in the area and may be particularly useful for people to use alongside debt management advice from professional advisory service.
Lorraine Giddings, the Nottingham's head of branch network, said that the scheme was a way of getting people started on tackling their financial woes.
She said: "Local people have a real desire to sort out their long-term financial situations. But we are discovering many don't really know where to start. That's why we are rolling out the seminars."
Those people who feel they have taken the 'first step' in attending one the Nottingham's seminars but would like to compound the lessons with further, more regular advice could consider speaking to a professional debt help service.
