- Thursday, 17 September 2009A significant number of people are contemplating looking for work overseas as a result the increasing joblessness in the UK.
That is according to Foreign Currency Direct, which reveals that 23 per cent of Britons are considering emigrating in the next two years in order to find work.
People who are struggling financially but are reluctant to leave the UK could find speaking to a debt management specialist of help.
Commenting on the figures, Peter S Ellis, chief executive of Foreign Currency Direct, said that the trend of people looking for work overseas was not a surprise and that Australia and the US had already experienced high levels of expatriation.
He commented: "As people struggle to find jobs, it is no wonder that Brits are considering bailing out the UK.
"In the last year, Foreign Currency Direct has seen an 37 per cent increase in the number of clients transferring funds to Australia and the USA as Britons look overseas for a better quality of life."
