- Tuesday, 29 September 2009House prices in England and Wales declined in August, new figures reveal.
According to data from the Land Registry, the average home price dropped by 0.1 per cent to £155,968.
Although the fall equates to a rededication of just £202, the lack of price gain could spell bad news for people who had been relying on a property market boost.
For more many people, a house is their prize asset. The significant drops in value experienced since the start of the recession could mean that people who had previously planned to sell their house in order to cop financially may now struggle.
As a result, there could be an increase in the need for
individual voluntary agreement (IVA) help.
According to the further data from the Land Registry, the annual price decline on the average home in England and Wales has been 9.4 per cent.
