Allianz Insurance explains that it is important to intervene early when symptoms of stress begin to emerge - which could include concerns about answering some of those IVA questions.
Without resolving these symptoms, the cost to the individual and their employer could be high, statistics from the firm indicate.
Banu Gajendran, health and safety manager at Allianz Insurance, says: "A total of 13.5 million working days were lost to work-related stress, depression and anxiety in 2007-08.
"It is a major cause of occupational ill health resulting in sickness absence, high staff turnover and poor performance."
Allianz Insurance is now embarking on an initiative which aims to enhance staff wellbeing through lifestyle improvements.

Writing off the majority of the debt through an IVA can ensure that consumers are only required to pay back the proportion of their borrowing that they can afford.
