- Wednesday, 19 August 2009Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey has entered into an
individual voluntary agreement (IVA) in order to pay off millions of pounds of debt.
The actor, who recently starred in hit TV show Waterloo Road, has admitted to losing £2.5 million following a string of failed investments in pubs and hotels.
Rather than file for bankruptcy however, Mr Morrissey told the News of the World that he intended to repay his creditors in full.
He said: "Bankruptcy's the easy way out. I decided no, I'd step up to the plate, try to do the right thing and get everyone their money back. I feel morally obliged."
Mr Morrissey will transfer all his earnings over the next few years - except for living costs - to his creditors.
The voice of Bob the Builder will be hoping that as a result of entering into an IVA he can answer those shouting "Can he fix it?" with an emphatic "Yes he can!"
