- Tuesday, 15 September 2009The number of people entering into
individual voluntary agreements (IVAs) could rise as a result of a Jobcentre Plus system deemed to be inefficient.
According to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), one third of small companies believe the current job-finding system to be of little help.
The survey found that 34 per cent of firms found the system either 'ineffective' or 'very ineffective'.
Another 49 per cent had no idea whether it worked well or not.
The news could worry a number of people who are struggling financially as a result of being unemployed.
John Wright, national chairman of the FSB, said: "As small businesses are the country's key employers
it's time the government reformed Jobcentre Plus and made it work effectively."
The Office for National Statistics reported last month that UK unemployment had risen to 2.43 million.
