- Friday, 18 June 2010Careful driving can save consumers money, which could be used to stay on top of a
debt management plan.
According to Shell UK, consumers are too busy to pay attention to how careful driving could save them hundreds of pounds.
David Wood, media manager for Shell UK, said: "People don't realise how much fuel they use. They are being busy driving about on their hectic days.
"What we have found with our study is that with drawing people's attention to how cars should be driven, there is quite a lot of money that can be saved."
He suggested inflating tyres properly, not driving with the windows rolled down, getting rid of unnecessary clutter that could weigh the car down and slowing down in order to use less petrol.
A family from Aberdeen managed to cut their driving costs by 62 per cent the equivalent of £710 a year.
