- Thursday, 19 November 2009Consumers have been told that they should look for the best petrol pump prices ahead of Christmas, with fuel prices set to rise beyond £5 per gallon.
That is according to the AA, which has suggested that during the festive period people should remain aware of differing station prices and ensure they use the cheapest option.
Saving those extra few pennies could allow people to avoid mounting debt problems in what is a notoriously expensive period.
Mark Huggins, director of AA Financial Services revealed that the best place to fill up is often at superstores.
He commented: "We can do little to control the price of petrol and diesel but we urge drivers to keep their eyes open for the cheapest pump prices which are often supermarkets."
As of yesterday (November 18th) average UK petrol prices stood at 108.69p per litre, up from the previous peak of 107.14p per litre on October 27th.
