Stressed out Brits may need IVA help
- Wednesday, 3 February 2010IVA help may benefit the high number of Britons suffering from money-related stress and anxiety.
A new survey by research organisation Mintel found that money is the nation's top concern, with 40 per cent of Brits claiming to be stressed over their financial situation.
Other top concerns included problems of friends and family members, health concerns, stress at work, and job security or employment.
Senior health and beauty analyst at Mintel Alexandra Richmond said: "Even though the recession may be over, people have become more aware of the fragility of their jobs or indeed the price of their home, which is why employment and finance top our list of worries."
In terms of dealing with stress, 54 per cent of people choose to socialise with family and friends, 40 per cent read a book, and 33 per cent turn to exercise.
Additional research by UK debt charity, the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS), found that many Brits are suffering from "recession depression".
Nearly one in four businesses (23 per cent) claim that the recession has affected employee stress levels, leading to a rise in long term absence rates.
